Oral history interview with Carol Williams Kimball (1916-2010) conducted by Johana Dickens, February 26, 1975. Carol was born in New London in 1916 and educated at the Willimantic Normal School and Eastern Connecticut State College. She moved to Mystic in the late 1930s after her marriage to Burton Kimball and began a long career as a teacher at Fort Hill School and the Mystic Academy. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Mystic Seaport Museum, served as the Groton Town Historian from 1985-2009 and authored several books on the history of Groton. This interview touches on her personal history and on her research, writings and collections regarding the history of Groton. |
